Institute of Hydraulic Engineering and Land Reclamation of Ukrainian Academy of agrarian sciences Institute of Hydraulic Engineering and Land Reclamation founded in 1929 is the leading institution in Ukraine in the field of land reclamation and water management which consists of the Crimean branch with the pilot farm, Sarnensk and Kamensk-Dneprov pilot stations, Pilot station for sewage disposal, Sulsk pilot field, Kiev and Lvov pilot-mechanical factories, a number of specialized enterprises of pilot production.
As the main scientific institution of the center "Land reclamation" of Ukrainian Academy of agrarian sciences Institute carries out scientific-methodological and coordination support of scientific institutions activity that are part of it.
The Institute conducts basic and applied researches on hydraulic engineering, irrigation and land drainage, water management, agricultural water supply and sewage, environmental problems of land reclamation, ecological monitoring, developing a designs of reclamation systems, automated control systems, technologies, technical means of mechanization of irrigation and land reclamation work, exploitation of reclamation systems and effective use of ameliorate lands.
The Institute supports scientific- technological relations with the CIS countries, a number of companies and research centers in the United States, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands; is the basic organization of the national committee of the International Commission on Irrigation and Drainage, a member of the International Association of hydraulic researches; the Technical Committee of standardization "Land reclamation and water management".
