The article explains the current situation with the problem of ice jams on the rivers of the Russian Federation. It is argued that universal control measures have not yet been worked out. In this regard, the existing "Guidelines..." are temporary. It is proposed to continuously improve the ways, methods and ways of dealing with ice jams, taking into account local conditions.
