The situation with water resources in the Orenburg region and their utilization in agriculture has been analyzed. The problems of water resources management are considered and measures of its improvement are suggested. To enhance the efficiency of water resources utilization and the possibility of applying the sprinkler system of irrigation in potatoes growing in the «Agrofirma Krasnokholmskaya» Ltd have been studied.
