This collection contains general and session reports of the Congress “Sustainable regional development in great river basins. Environmental improvement, energy resource saving and nature improvement technologies” organized within the 14th International Scientific and Industrial Forum “Great Rivers 2012”, which was held during the period of May 15 to 18, 2012 in the Nizhny Novgorod city. The reports cover issues related to environmental, hydrometeorological, and energy security and to sustainable socio-economic development in the world’s great river basins and regions.   

Volume  I contains the general reports and presentations from the sessions 1–6, and Volume 2 accommodates the reports from sessions 7–11.
