In order to identify spatial specificities of the formation of river network, headwater places were studied in the Chita basin in Zabaykalsky Krai.  The river network was plotted by using GIS-based software TAS GIS and the digital elevation model SRTM. By comparing the resulting river network with topographic maps, conditions, pattern, and degree of their influence on surface flow, as well as distribution of these conditions over the basin were identified. The generated schemes of river network correspond to different conditions of moistening.
