The handbook gives definitions of more than 5,000 terms and notions in the water sphere. If a term or notion has no interpretation in regulatory documents (federal laws, GOST (state standards), directives, regulations, etc.), its explanation is given according to natural sciences. Moreover, priority is given to definitions derived from the federal laws and regulatory documents issued at a later point in time. 

Annexes provide widespread abbreviations used in research and production organizations and institutes both in English and Russian. 

It is recommended for a wide range of experts from the water sector and associated spheres.
