The issues of efficient farm management and the state of soil and land resources are considered. Unbalanced increase in the share of food grain crops (mainly, wheat) to 60-62% and more in the total crop area, large share of fallow land in the arable land area, and absence of nature conservation technologies reduce stability of grain yields. In the near five years, since 2011, the average productivity of grains will not exceed 18 centner per hectare, and the average gross grain harvest (weight after processing) will not be higher than 80 Mt/year under the current cropping patterns, crop areas, and low level of faming intensity.
