Dniester is the largest river in Western Ukraine and Moldova, together with the Danube, the Dnieper and Southern Bug belongs to the great rivers flowing into the Black Sea. The total length of 1362 km of the river within the borders of Ukraine, it is 925 km, and borders the length of the Dniester in Moldova is 652 km. Nistru basin area is 72.1 km2, of which the borders of Ukraine is 52.7 thousand km2, or 73,1%, while within the boundaries of Moldova - 19,4 thousand km2, or 26,9%.
