Given publication collects the best practices of efficient irrigation water use, shows field methods of soil moisture and texture measurement, diagnostics of irrigation by field and instrumental (tensiometers, pressure chambers) methods, and technique and technology of surface irrigation. For elucidation of processes observed in soil and plants under irrigation, examples of moisture fluxes in the soil, critical plant development phases, and diagnostics of irrigation dates by field methods are demonstrated. 

The guidelines will serve as visual aids for farmers to help them to improve irrigation techniques, save and use irrigation water more effectively, and increase crop yields.
