Water protection is labor intensive and involves numerous complex tasks, one of which is a comprehensive hydrological and hydrochemical assessment of anthropogenic hydro-ecosystems.
The paper focuses on identification of the current regime formation patterns in the largest Aidaro-Arnasai lake system in Uzbekistan and on the ways to preserve favorable environmental conditions in this system.
This work presents the morphometric characteristics of the Aidaro-Arnasai system over 1993-2011. It gives details of the system’s water balance and its effect on water quality in the lakes. The hydrochemical water quality is shown for the summer-autumn period of 2011. Finally, the paper presents the most important measures to be taken for environmental stability in the lake system.
