The monograph addresses issues related to prevention and remedy of water logging in urban and rural areas in order to improve land, environmental, and sanitary-epidemiological conditions. The book considers research methods used to assess groundwater rise due to irrigation, calculate percolation and migration parameters in the aeration zone, and develop numerical solution of drainage problems. Particular attention is paid to generalization of the results of vertical drainage well operation in various hydrogeological conditions, quantitative assessment of water inflow to vertical drainage well, development of new, simpler and more effective constructions for replacement in the future, with consideration of comparative economic indicators.
