May 18-20, 2011 in Yekaterinburg hosted the XI International Scientific and Practical Symposium "Pure Water of Russia", organized by the Federal Agency for Water Resources of Russia, Russian Institute of Water Resources in conjunction with the administration of the Sverdlovsk region.

The event opened the exhibition "Pure Water of Russia", which presented numerous exhibits showing the work of companies in Russia towards the improvement of water supply and water conservation in the Russian Federation.

At the opening of the symposium board member of the WWC prof. V.A. Dukhovny welcomed the participants of the symposium popular expression of the President of the WWC Loïc Fashona: "The time of light water over! Now we need to fight for the opportunity to conserve water use and water quality of the sources from which we feed." Very pleased that in light of the direction of 6 WWF - "Time for Action" at the exhibition and symposium are shown and discussed ways to improve water management in Russia, its utility - as the main suppliers of water to the population of the country. It must be stressed not only the value of capital investments in water supply and sanitation, but also the creation of new organizational forms of water management in the form of public and public-private organization involving the water users' initiative to control water use.
