The paper proposes measures on hydrosphere protection under development of the gold mining complex of field «Birkachan» of the Magadan region. It is established that the main load on the hydrosphere is done by water drainage. The main types of waste water in this type of activity are economic-domestic; surface; open pit and mine. Economic-household water cause minimal damage to the environment due to low consumption and cleaning according to the required standards. The surface runoff is formed in two parts of the field, removed and treated in the pit water settling tank. It was found that during the deposit development by the underground method the pit water formed earlier by the open method, surface runoff from the adjacent area ground water inflow, mine water come to the worked-out space. This water is accumulated in the pit water reservoir and then pumped to the surface to the settling tank. The chemical composition of pit water depends on the quality of precipitation and ground water. The content of pollutants in groundwater does not exceed the maximum allowable concentrations for economic-drinking water and fisheries. Concentration of suspended solids and oil products in the quarry water are exceeded.
