Global problems of water protection and hydromonitoring, practical and theoretical approaches to their decision in some foreign states and in Russia are covered. In a complex with it the role of protected woodlands and others nature reservations in conservation of river drainage areas and aquatic ecosystems is considered. Necessity of data acquisition is shown so that there was a possibility of adequate and enough exact assessment of a state of aquatic ecosystems on different existential scales.
