As applied to Krasnodar region, the article observes the main tasks that need to be solved on the way to sustainable development of water utilization system of the region: improving the system of hydrological and hydrochemical monitoring in the region; minimizing the negative impact of rice melioration systems and their renovation; providing stability of hydro engineering constructions; protecting water bodies from pollution; renovation of drinking water supply systems, solving problems of operating the Krasnodar water reservoir; optimizing the system of water economy management.
